East Hartford Republican Town Committee Recommends Esther Clarke to Fill Town Council Position

East Hartford, July 12, 2012 – At the July 9, 2012 regularly-scheduled meeting of the East Hartford Republican Town Committee, Esther B. Clarke was elected to fill the Republican vacancy on the East Hartford Town Council created by the resignation of Bob Damaschi, Sr., in June.

Esther is a long-time active member of the Republican Party and had served twelve years on the East Hartford Town Council in the past.  She has been a Constable and a Justice of the Peace for many years, in addition to serving on various boards and commissions in town.

She was the GOP candidate for Mayor in 2011, and through her many years of residency and service in town, Clarke knows East Hartford’s Town Government and is looking forward to being more involved again.

The East Hartford Town Council will vote on this recommendation at its next meeting.
